This wiki page details the compatibility and functionality of the Galaxy S I9000 and T9100 with Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Connector. Please contribute relevant information or corrections in our effort to facilitate end-user experience.

Note: This page is not for reporting defects and bugs. Those should be reported in the Novell Forums. Only limitations that are consequences of the nature of the phone should be reported here.

OS Requirements:

Setup Instructions

  1. On the phone, verify that you have a working wifi or data connection. If your Novell Data Sync Server resides inside a firewall, ensure that your internet connection will allow you to access it.
  2. On phone, go to Email > menu key > Add Account.
  3. Enter email address and password.
  4. Select "Exchange Activesync" and configure manually
  5. Populate the required fields with the correct information (user email address, userid, password, server IP address, etc.)
    1. Reference the note in the section below, SSL Considerations.
  6. Finish walking through the steps and complete setup.
  7. Your Email, Calendar, and Contacts can now sync.
    1. If calendar or contacts don't seem to be syncing yet, create a calendar event or contact on the device and sync it to the Data Sync Server. This sometimes speeds up the process.

  • Emails sent or forwarded as attachments cannot be opened on the Droid device. (.eml-Files)

  • Creating a recurring appointment on the device will cause the calendar to stop syncing incoming appointments. If this occurs, removing the recurring appointment from the device calendar will correct the problem.
  • All day events created in the GroupWise Client may span multiple days on the device. If this happens, go to the device calendar and push the menu button. Select Settings, enable the "Lock time zone" setting and update the "Select time zone" setting to be set to the same time zone as configured on the machine where the GroupWise Client is running.
