Syncing channels

SUSE Manager can sync channels from NCC through a corporate proxy.

Channel syncing is done with mgr-ncc-sync. It supports both http/https protocols as well as authentication for proxies.

The easiest way to configure the proxy is by using yast2. mgr-ncc-sync will then read the proxy configuration from yast2's config files. Alternatively, the environment variables HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY can be set like this:

 https_proxy='http://host.domain:port'

or

 https_proxy='http://user:password@host.domain:port'

At the moment, proxy authentication is only supported by setting the username/password in the URL of those environment variables.

Further, the proxy needs to be set in the webinterface as well. Go to

Admin -> SUSE Manager Configuration -> General -> HTTP proxy

In here, fill in the proxy information in the following form:

 http://host.domain:port

Important: Save your changes using the "Update" button in the lower right corner.

Afterwards, the SUSE Manager must be restarted to reflect these changes.
