Device Summary

Overview:

Novell Certified for Data Synchronizer Mobility Connector?   Yes/No
Ease of Setup   Excellent/Average/Poor
Email   Fully Supported/Supported with Limitations/Not Supported
Contacts Fully Supported/Supported with Limitations/Not Supported
Calendar   Fully Supported/Supported with Limitations/Not Supported

OS Requirements:

Setup Instructions

  1. On the phone, verify that you have a working wifi or data connection. If your Novell Data Sync Server resides inside a firewall, ensure that your internet connection will allow you to access it.
  2. On phone, go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
  3. Select Corporate Account.
  4. Populate the required fields with the correct information (user email address, userid, password, server IP address, etc.)
    1. Reference the note in the section below, SSL Considerations.
  5. Finish walking through the steps and complete setup.
  6. Your Email, Calendar, and Contacts can now sync.
    1. If calendar or contacts don't seem to be syncing yet, create a calendar event or contact on the device and sync it to the Data Sync Server. This sometimes speeds up the process.

SSL Considerations

  • The DroidX will not let you setup an insecure connection to a DataSync server. To get around this, you have to connect to a secure server, and then after the connection is setup and working, edit the settings by changing the server IP to the insecure server, and disabling SSL. This is a Motorola bug.
