There are some messenger clients which are working with the GroupWise Messenger:

The Novell Messenger, of course
pidgin (formerly known as gaim): http://www.pidgin.im/downloads.php which can connect to several messenger services
kopete: http://kopete.kde.org/releases.php

You can find a Debian package of the Novell Messenger v2.0.1 here: http://megane.flaven.de/grpwise_messenger.deb

Mac users can use the fantastic, free and muti-protocol Adium: http://www.adiumx.com

Windows Trillian Users can use the Trillian Plugin found here: http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/downloads/detail.php?item=121
- Note: There appears to be an issue with this plugin where you must restart the client if disconnected from Novell Messenger (Trillian 4.2 build 23 - Novell Messenger Messaging Agent 2.1.0)

Windows Mobile Users can use the "GroupWise Messenger on your PocketPC" found here: http://www.omni-ts.com/groupwise-messenger/

BlackBerry users (including the Storm) can use the "BlackBerry Enterprise Instant Messaging" found here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/im.jsp
