Talk:Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 Best Practices Migration Guide - Migrating Background Infrastructure Services
The section about SLP sometimes creates confusion with customers. This is due to the fact that this document uses the name "SLP" both to distinguish the SLP protocol as well as the Novell software that implements the SLP protocol. Especially, the sentence "DAs are not supported on Linux" in the section SLP leads to a lot of misunderstanding and questions in the forums. I suggest that in order to avoid all possible confusion, the short name "SLP" should only be used to designate the SLP protocol. Whenever the document takes about the code that implements SLP, I suggest the name "Novell SLP" for Novell's own SLP code in opposition of Open SLP for the other available SLP implementation. I have made the suggested changes to the wiki page.
