Clarifying that the expire/reduce option should be used versus GW Client Options, cleanup tab to enforce retention policy.
Currently we use the GW client options, cleanup tab - but it does not get rid of unread email.
We are planning to implement expire/reduce nightly to enforce the unread email deletion and to run the reduce on the databases.
on a side not - the GW 7 Admin Guide says that expire/reduce does not delete unread email. I tested it on my account and it did delete unread email. It does not delete unread email currently.
Dave's guide says use expire/reduce vs client options because the user upkeep can be demanding.
we do have mailbox size limits and attachment limits. and perform the other recommended weekly and nightly checks, et.c
anyone's elses thoughts/advice? Thanks! sharon
