Setup Instructions

Basic instructions on getting your Mobility Pack running on your iPhone/iTouch device:

1. Make sure that your Mobility Pack server is up and running and you have the following information:

  • Server address
  • Port (if non-standard)
  • Whether the server requires a secure connection or not

2.From the home screen click on the top right hand corner arrow.

  • Select "Settings"
  • Scroll over to "System"
  • Select "email+account."
  • Select "Add an Account"
  • Select "Outlook"

3.Enter in email address and password.

  • Select "Sign In."

4.The device will then ask for more information including "Domain" and "User name."

5.Select "Sign In" again. It will try and detect your settings again. After it is unable to detect your settings the second time, you will be able to select "Advanced"

There you will be able to put in your Novell Datasync server with either the IP address, or the DNS.

If you select the arrow on the advanced page, you will be able to see other settings including SSL certifications settings, as well as how often to download new content, the account name, how many days previous you want to download your email, and the content you want to sync.

6.After editing your settings your liking, select "Sign in" in the bottom left hand corner.

SSL Considerations

Some certificates will need to be installed on the device manually.

  • A "root" certificate is generally needed, with a .cer file extension
  • The certificate may need to be installed via a hotmail or windows live email account, through an attachment.
