This wiki page details the compatibility and functionality of the Google Nexus One with Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Connector. Please contribute relevant information or corrections in our effort to facilitate end-user experience.

OS Requirements:

Setup Instructions

  1. Choose (Menu)/ Settings/ Accounts & sync/ Add account.
  2. Choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
  3. Enter your email address and password and choose Next.
  4. Under Server:
    1. Change the server name (if necessary) to that of your Data Synchronizer server.
    2. (if using a self-signed cert) Select Accept all SSL certificates
    3. Choose Next
  5. Under Account options, choose settings as desired, then choose Next.
  6. When asked to Give this account a name, enter GroupWise and choose Done.

SSL Considerations

DigiCert certificates work great. Just be sure, like with other SSL Certificate providers, that you configure the server to send the intermediate certificates needed to chain up to the trusted root.

Calendar

Working Features:

  • The calendar works fine with Android 2.2 (Froyo)


Device Limitations (not defects):

  • Calendar does not work for this device with versions 2.1 or earlier of Android.


Notes:

  • To get events to your calendar, set up a rule to forward appointments to the google account you're syncing to the device and they will automatically be added to your device that way. You can create a rule in the google account to filter out the emails that this generates too as they are accepted by default.
  • Other options are touchdown exchange client - handles calendar events as well.(Paid app from market $20)

Other Notes

  • Kill Pill is not supported for Android devices.
